BrittiCares International is committed to finding new and better ways to improve the quality of life for children who have been diagnosed with cancer. The inspiration of the organization came from a little girl named Brittiana Henderson who was first diagnosed with Osteogenic Sarcoma (bone cancer) at the age of 10 and later developed leukemia at age 12 where she fought courageously for one year all without complaining, and assisting other children with cancer to help them defeat the pernicious disease. Although Brittiana’s battle against Leukemia came to an end, the efforts of BCI have not diminished and have supported thousands of children battling cancer and their families. www.BrittiCares.org

The first ever Kaci Taylor Girly Expo took place this past weekend in Saddle Brook, NJ. Run by Laina Avant, Kaci Taylor is a girls wear brand named after her daughter. Kaci Taylor’s motto is “Wear Who You Are”, and encourages you to be a kind, awesome, caring individual! The expo featured seminars for girls of varying age groups, as well as fashion & lifestyle vendors. Entertainment was provided by Roc Nation’s Bridget Kelly performing her single, Special Delivery, which she dedicated to Kaci Taylor herself. DJ Quiana taught little girls basic dj skills, while others enjoyed face painting, caricatures, and balloon art. A few notable brands that caught our attention included; Lucid Cosmetics, Miche, Jams by Kim (Wine Jelly), Little Miss Tutuz, and Kane & Couture. We also spoke with Sadeqa Johnson about her award-winning book Love in a Carry-On Bag. It was a beautiful event for moms and daughters, or any girl who just wanted to do a little shopping!
In only its second year of operation, NY Tech Day 2013 boasted hundreds of start-ups and young technology companies. We got up close and hands on with the Fashion & Music start-ups displaying their products, along with the technology behind them. Here are some of our favorites.

The mission at Grain is to “rock hard, have fun, and give back.” The founders at Grain believe great sound is an art form and it’s what they are looking to deliver to listeners once their home speaker, over ear headphones, and buds go on sale. We especially like the classic wood grain design.
Breakrs: Described to us as a fantasy sports-like platform for music, Breakrs enables music fans to show off their skill in spotting the best new bands. Act as a talent scout to “break” up-and-coming bands, earning rewards and recognition.

This year’s New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) at Jacob Javitz Center is now open and running through Sunday, April 7th. The show features new attractions including motorcycle, motorpsports, and accessories areas. Experience Pirelli’s Simulators, Camp Jeep’s Interactive Adventure Zone, and the Harley Davidson Jump Start as you mount their bikes!
For our art lovers, Gartel Art Cars debuted at the NYIAS. Laurence Gartel has been considered the “Father” of the Digital Art movement around the world for over 35 years. Gartel’s first commissioned Art Car was for Art Basel Miami Beach two years ago. Mercedes Benz Sprinter chassis are normally crafted for businesses, but consider one of these for your family road trips. They can be custom designed and outfitted by Midwest Automotive Designs. The unique partnership between Nissan & Gibbson turned a vehicle into a traveling maintenance van. Nissan parks the van at concerts and music festivals to tune guitars. Auto show fashion featured cufflinks, high tech ski goggles, racing gloves & scarves, and luggage. New to all 2013 Lexus vehicles is a mobile app suite that automatically uploads data and updates from your mobile device.
