For this edition of AXM Fridays they partnered with our parent company Renaissance Life Entertainment to bring you, The Point of View: Renaissance Concert. The event served as a launch for emerging hip hop star, The Point’s Video & Street Single, “#DontCallMeTheNext”! The witty song, produced by Dillz of Big Stomach Entertainment, pays homage to hip hop greats from region to region, while The Point proclaims that he is not the next, but the new. The video was directed by D. Riles.
The event took place at NY’s Lower East Side (L.E.S.) venue, Gallery Bar. Lined with artwork on the white gallery styled walls, and filled with AXM Friday regulars, fans of The Point, and bloggers, The Point of View: Renaissance Concert featured music artists from different genres that thoroughly entertained.
The line-up included acoustic soul singer, Kevauna Leshea, spoken word/rapper, Snax, and hiphop artist, Solo D. Ali. Newly signed Universal/MBK acoustic soul/alternative singer, Anthony Hall blessed the stage with a few songs, including what’s sure to be one of his hit singles, “Don’t get too Emotional”.
Artist of the night, The Point, then took the stage and performed a special version of his new song, #DontCallMeTheNext, as the video premiered from an overhead projector on to the white gallery wall, hanging his video in a gallery as artwork!
Monster Products, who sponsored the video, made an impact at the video launch party with the Monster Hummer parked outside, and Monster Models inside with giveaways. DJ Quest Flavor kept it lit between acts and showed what a DJ scratching to hip hop sounds like during The Point’s live set of original music.
